The site is located off the Newby Bridge to Hawkshead road two and a half miles north of the A590, to the West of Lake Windermere.

Turn off the A590 at Newby Bridge on to the road signposted Lakeside, YMCA and Hawkshead. Proceed over the bridge and past the Swan Hotel. Half a mile past Lakeside Hotel, after a bad bend turn sharp left between two cottages (Pinewood Cottage/The Old Post House) (sign 50 yards before turning). If you have a long caravan you may need to pull over to the right hand side of the road in-order to achieve the sharp turn in one manoeuvre. However you should watch the  rear of your caravan does not catch the wall opposite as you turn in. Also be prepared for the passenger to get out as the gate into the site access may be closed (unusual). If you get to the Bobbin Mill you have gone too far! Proceed down the road to the YMCA and turn in the South Camp car park to return.
